Fabrication Services
Machining metal is a specialist task. It requires a thorough understanding of the characteristics of the metal used and how best to process it—our team has both.
Our two primary techniques in this area are using metal breaks and form-bending. These techniques allow us to get a perfectly clean bend, without stressing the metal to its breaking point. When we create a walkway for you, you’ll know that it’s built to last.
Naturally, metals also need to be cut. In this area, we’ll match the right technique with the right project. We have a range of tools at our disposal – from hand shears through to plasma cutters, which means that we can handle cutting large sheets of metal or create intricate shapes that require hand-finishing. You just let us know what you need, and we’ll work out the best way to get it to you.
Structural Design & Fabrication
These are elements that are needed to provide the practical touches for your construction project. Under this category, we can create mezzanines, platforms, handrails, and catwalks.
Building Component Fabrication
Under this category, we create products commonly needed in buildings. Projects here might include personal safety, stairways, equipment protection, ladders, ladder cages, guards, and hoods.
Sheet Metal Fabrication
Where appropriate, we’ll use throatless or mechanical sheers. These shears cut shapes cleanly without destroying the surrounding metal, which allows us to get more shapes out of a single sheet of metal and are a great way to minimize waste.
In some instances, power shears are a better fit. These can cut through tougher metals quickly and easily, with no effort for the operator. These are great if you need to cut intricate shapes or tight corners.
On the downside, the shapes need to be placed further apart because the shears damage a little of the surrounding metal resulting in more waste.
Stainless Steel Fabrication
Stainless steel is prized for its strength and longevity. It also requires special cutting tools. Here we use plasma cutters. They cut through the steel effortlessly and are fast and accurate. There’s also very little waste.
These are especially suitable for where you need to make straight, long cuts. The cutters can handle up to around 0.75-inch thick steel.
Carbon Steel Fabrication
Carbon steel is also an extremely robust material that requires specialized cutting techniques. Our consultants will discuss these techniques in more detail with they know more about your project.
Aluminum Fabrication
Aluminum is not difficult to cut and shape, but it does require special handling to ensure that the surface is not damaged or scratched. Depending on your requirements, we might make use of a stretcher, dolly, and hammer. We use an English Wheel to help smooth out imperfections in the surface of the metal that result from this technique.
